While I'm so new at this whole journal thing, I'm having trouble thinking of things to write about. So, today, I have decided to enlighten you on my love for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ever since I was a wee girl, I loved football. Maybe that's because I had a mother who was completely obsessed with it. I can remember my grandma and grandpa coming out to the house every Sunday and Mom and Grandpa G. would be so engaged in the game, while Grandma G. read soap opera magazines. I would watch the games with them, even though I had no clue what was going on. I would just yell and cheer for the Chiefs. As I got older, I began to actually understand the game and started loving it even more.
Each year for Christmas, Grandma B. would get me something Chiefs. I remember having a Chiefs trash can, a Chiefs clock, Chiefs pennants, Chiefs sweats, Chiefs earrings, etc. etc. etc. The kids at school would give me shit. “Why do you like the Chiefs??” “They suck!!” People still say that to me today. And my answer is always the same; A loyal fan never gives up on their team.
In recent years, my obsession with the Chiefs has risen to the max. This is partly due to the fact that A) My mother and my other mother are obsessive fans as well and we watch all the games together, B) I married a sports fanatic (1 TV in our house is always on ESPN Sports Center, and C) I am totally in love with Tony Gonzalez. For those of you who don’t know who Tony G. is, I will provide you with a picture. He is the most bad-ass tight end in the NFL (and he has a quite nice tight end as well!)
Watching the Chiefs on TV is great. But actually being at the game is indescribable. Arrowhead Stadium has this certain aura about it that actually gives you chills when you’re there. By the way, Arrowhead was voted the #1 loudest stadium in the NFL, as well as being the hardest for away-teams to play in. That’s because we have the most kick-ass fans!! Arrowhead has been coined the “
For our anniversary this year, Brent and I went to a Chiefs game (how lucky that there just happened to be a Chiefs game on New Years Eve?!) And because it was a holiday game, there were still some good tickets left. We had AWESOME seats. We were 23 rows up from the field, in the end zone. The game was a blast. We got drunker than shit (I fell down in the stands) and had a grand ‘ole time. It was actually snowing during the game, but we didn’t really seem to notice….until the end of the game, when I couldn’t feel my ass or legs because they were numb. But it was all worth it!
So, next on the agenda of an obsessive Chiefs fanatic: getting a hold of some season tickets. But that may be a few years down the road……
P.S.
Maggie's a Chiefs fan too!

I know somebody who has season tickets and typically sales some of them. Come next season, shoot me an e-mail, and I'll see if they have any available.
